Abandoned Duck Egg Survives!!

A Mallard duck (Daisy) laid 9 eggs in late June on our front patio again (5th time). After 7 eggs had hatched, she didn't wait for the last 2 to hatch, because it was so hot (106), she had to get the ducklings to the lake about 1/2 mile away. We assumed that the 2 eggs left behind were duds, until the next morning when we heard one egg chirping. What a pleasant surprise to find life in one. The video shows what happened next.
